Although it has been two seasons since this award was given, its importance warrants its continued presence in the news section!

The New Jersey Region of the National Ski Patrol had the honor to present not only the Eastern Division Nordic Patroller of the Year but the National Nordic Patroller of the Year Award to our very own Joni Porter.

For any of us watching, Joni’ face was very telling as, at first she thought it might be her then saying, ‘no, it cant be me’ as the Eastern Division Award winner announcement was being made.

When Sue-Ellen started in about the National Nordic Patroller of the Year, it was fun to watch Joni as you you could see her trying to figure out who won the National Award, as from her expression, ‘it surly wasn’t me, who else can it be’ face. The look of surprise on her face was worth a thousand words.

The best part was that Joni was responsible for putting the event together – sort of planning her own party.

Joni was surrounded by her Husband and Daughter, a fellow ski patroller at Gore.

We want to congratulate her on a very well deserved award.
