This commendation is awarded to patrollers who have demonstrated leadership, good character, diplomacy, positive attitudes, good judgment, exemplary patrolling abilities, and extraordinary service. It is similar to the National Appointment award.

Chris has been a Patroller for 45 years and has been the long time Instructor of Record (IOR) for Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) at Campgaw Mountain. In addition to this Leadership Commendation Appointment, Chris holds:

• An Eastern Division Patroller Achievement Award
• A Patriot Star
• A Purple Merit Star

Chris has lectured various ski and racing groups on hill safety and responsible hill behavior as well as mentoring local Boy Scouts on their way to First Aid Merit Badges.
